Through the lens of one woman's journey from nearly dying of an eating disorder to winning three National Dance Championships as a healthy plus-size athlete, Ragen will discuss real options for health, happiness and high self-esteem for people of all sizes, starting wherever you are right now!

"Every Body Needs a Break" Wellness Fair
This event will feature activity stations : yoga, eating disorder and body image trivia, a mindful eating activity called "Eat Cupcakes, Be Confident!", a creative activity to promote body acceptance, a massage station provided by RecSports, the body peace pledge, and a resource table. Students will receive a t-shirt for completing activities!

Come outside and play between classes with BAM and Alpha Epsilon Delta! Redefine exercise and physical activity with fun movement through activities like hula hoop, jump rope, and more. Learn about all the unique ways to move and show your body some love at interactive table at the Reitz North Lawn.

Walk-in participation for this activity will be availabe as space allows from 3:00-4:30. Other activities do not require registration.

What influences your self-esteem and body image? Why does it matter? And, what can you do about it? Dr. Jaime Jasser from the Counseling and Wellness Center will help to answer these questions and introduce ways to challenge self-defeating thoughts that can get in the way of body appreciation and self-acceptance.
Come early or stick around after the presentation to check out our displays and activity tables. Learn about Fat Talk Free Week, campus resources and opportunities to get involved! 
Activities will begin at 6:30 and Dr. Jasser will speak at 7:00.

As you walk the path of beauty, you will explore many quotations, videos, and pictures all focusing on the positive and negative aspects of women’s body image. You are sure to experience personal freedom and hopefully you will feel confident enough to destroy the old image of yourself and embrace the true beautiful you with no need for Photoshop.

In this eye-opening documentary, filmmaker and former Elite International fashion model Nicole Clark, exposes the impossible beauty standards set by the fashion and advertising industries. While investigating the deep and negative impact these messages and images have on teens and young women, she provides suggestions on ways we can educate our youth and think critically about the media. Free and open to all UF students, faculty, staff and the public.

If you’ve wondered  “What should I say?”, “Is it possible to say the wrong thing?”, and “What if they won’t listen?”, come to this panel to learn how you can help. Dr. Roberta Seldman from the Counseling and Wellness Center and UF students will share their experiences and answer your questions.  Free and open to all UF students, faculty, staff and the public.

After a hard day’s work, come join us for an evening of yoga, massages, art and prizes. Show your body some love by signing the Body Peace Pledge and treating yourself to a cupcake for confidence.  When you embrace your body you can have your cupcake and eat it too! Open to all UF students.
